Fujifilm's EXR Sensor for unbeatable Image Quality

Following in the footsteps of the multi award-winning FinePix F200EXR, the revolutionary EXR sensor will make the FinePix F70EXR really stand out from the competition.

F70EXR

This ultimate 3-in-1 sensor can cleverly change its performance according to the scene being photographed. What's more, the user can opt for this to be intelligently managed by the camera using EXR Auto to optimise results, or alternatively can manually force the camera to behave in a particular way by selecting one of the EXR priorities:

F70EXR

HR High Resolution Priority

HRimageWhen you want to achieve the maximum detail possible, and the subject doesn't demand the extra dynamic range provided by Dual Capture Technology or the class leading Signal to Noise performance of Pixel Fusion Technology, Super CCD EXR can be used in HR mode to capture full twelve megapixel images with breathtaking levels of fine detail.

SN Signal to Noise Priority

HRimageBoosting sensitivity on conventional sensors has always resulted in increased noise, and efforts to control this noise have resulted in blurred images and loss of resolution when shooting in low light. To combat this EXR 'couples' same colour pixels together to create larger, giant pixels that can record more detail in low light and limit noise.

DR Dynamic Range Priority

HRimage If you have ever seen a pale blue sky turn white in a photograph then you have experienced one of the biggest problems facing all compact digital cameras: limited dynamic range.

Super CCD EXR uses Dual Capture Technology to simultaneously capture two images of the same scene: one taken at high sensitivity and the other at low sensitivity. It then merges the two images to generate a photo with increased (up to 800% higher) Dynamic Range. This broadened tonal capability ensures exceptional rendition of photos with both bright highlights and dark shadows.

EXR Auto Logo Whatever the subject, whatever the conditions EXR Auto guarantees stunning photos every time. With six pre-set scene modes of the most popular subjects; Landscape, Portrait, Macro, Night, Night Portrait, Backlit Portrait: EXR Auto automatically detects the scene and not only optimises the focus, exposure and white balance but chooses the optimum EXR mode, too. Taking great photos couldn't get any easier.

Cutting Edge Design

F70EXRMost long zoom compacts are a hybrid of bigger bridge cameras and compacts and meaning you can't easily slip them in your pocket. However the FinePix F70EXR breaks the mould. It's a truly pocketable 10x zoom compact camera and because it's light-weight, it's perfect to carry in your bag for everyday occasions or taking on holiday.

F70EXRThe FinePix F70EXR is only 23mm-thin, almost the same thickness as most current 5x zoom models on the market. However, it stows away a monsterous 10x zoom! On the outside, the metal chassis oozes class, while the double coated varnish not only protects the camera from knocks and bangs but gives a jewel-like finish for astounding good looks. It really is a top quality camera both inside and out.

Fujinon 10x Zoom

The technology behind a camera's lens directly effects the quality of images that the camera produces; a poor lens will provide you with sub-standard pictures. The FinePix F70EXR sports a high-precision, Fujinon 10x optical zoom lens, which, along with the EXR sensor, combines to produce fantastic images that show true-to-life colours and crisp detail. Developed in harmony with the EXR sensor, the Fujinon lens has a unique Electronic Beam Coating (EBC), which renders it remarkably efficient at collecting light, whilst controls the reflections which can result in ghosting and flare.

See it Wide, See it Clear

For all those frustrating occasions when you wished you could get more into the picture. With a 27mm wide-angle lens, the FinePix F70EXR is great for expansive subjects such as landscapes or group shots where you really struggle to get everyone in & would usually have to step back away from everyone to achieve the shot you want. With this camera you can capture your subjects in full detail, and ensure you fit them all in the picture.

DSLR-like Effects

The FinePix F70EXR is one of the first cameras to feature new multi-bracking technology; Pro Focus and Pro Lowlight modes. By using multi-bracketing technology Fujifilm allow you to create stunning and profesional looking photos that could be mistaken for those taken on an expensive DSLR!

Pro Focus Mode

One of the advantages of using a DSLR camera is the ability to create the 'wide aperture' effect which has previously been difficult to re-create using a compact camera due to lens restrictions. However, the FinePix F70EXR's Pro Focus function allows you to create images with a shallow depth of field, great for macro and portrait photography as it throws distracting backgrounds out of focus so your subject really stands out.

Pro Focus Mode works using multi-frame technology. The camera takes a rapid series of exposures at different focal points and aligns them to produce a single frame showing a sharply focused subject against a soft, out-of-focus background. The result is professional looking photos at the touch of a button.

Pro Lowlight Mode

This mode is perfect for shooting stationary subjects, like buildings, in poorly illuminated conditions. Again, using multi-frame technology, but this time combined with EXR's SN mode, the FinePix F70EXR takes a series of four high sensitivity/low-noise shots in quick succession; these are then matted together using in-camera processing into an image with less noise than the single exposures. The result is a new level of image clarity at high ISO levels.
